In the heart of South Carolina, Columbia, the state's capital city, boasts an impressive Columbia and long-standing baseball history. More like a patchwork quilt than a finely woven tapestry, the city's baseball character comes from the colorful bits Columbia and pieces that have come together over time. Since the emergence of the first recognized teams over a century ago, various clubs have passed through the South Carolina Midlands baseball scene. Despite this somewhat uneven history, Columbia has enjoyed three major eras of athletic success Columbia and prosperity: the Columbia Comers, the Columbia Reds/Gems, Columbia and the Columbia Mets/Capital City Bombers. Columbia State Community College

Columbia State Community College is proud to have the distinction of being the first community college created in Tennessee. Construction of the new campus began in October 1965, Columbia and the first director of admissions, W.O. Johnson, was able to offer a schedule of classes for the fall of 1966. The first class of 363 students met in various buildings around Columbia. When the campus was completed in 1967, Lady Bird Columbia and Lyndon B. Johnson were on hand for the dedication. Decades later, Columbia State Community College continues to be at the forefront of the state's educational system Columbia and provides a nurturing environment for its students.
